GRAND BLANC TWP, MI — Fans of the old-fashioned, homemade cinnamon rolls at Cinnamom’s Bakery will now be able to pick them up on the go.
The bakery is moving its storefront location from a plaza near Perry Road and Belsay Road to the corner of East Maple Avenue and Saginaw Road in Grand Blanc Township.
In doing so, Cinnamom will add a drive-thru window, gain some visibility and fill more online orders, according to owner Rebecca Nagy.
The bakery purchased its new building and is currently in the process of moving in. With a Monday, July 11 opening date, the business is glad to find a central location between Flint and Grand Blanc to serve each community.
“There’s a lot of excitement in that area. There’s not anything right around there like that and we have a lot of people that go to our Flint market,” Nagy said.
Cinnamom will offer free CinnaSwirls to the first 150 visitors to the new location, Nagy said.
The bakery has a strong following through mid- and southeast Michigan, Nagy said.
Many Flint residents will recognize the cinnamon rolls from their location in the Flint Farmers’ Market downtown.
“They can only go to (the Farmers’ Market) on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, so it seems like a huge amount of excitement and people reaching out to us,” Nagy said.
The new location will have a small coffee shop area, distribution area and kitchen for baking.
The drive-thru menu will allow the business to expand and bring a new espresso bar to go along with the Jumbo Rolls, CinnaSwirls and Snickerdoodles.
Cinnamom will offer hot coffee and cold drinks from lattes to smoothies. The full drive-thru menu is available on the bakery’s Facebook page.
An original business plan called for a 90-10 split with most of the business coming from online sources. In its current state, about half of their business comes in person.
This move will allow the business to expand its e-commerce footprint, Nagy said.
“Especially with COVID-19, people’s patterns changed and they started ordering online,” Nagy said. “Those patterns are still there with COVID going away. People are set in their patterns now.”
Cinnamom can be ordered online at CinnamomBakery.com or by phone at 810-866-4342. The local business offers more than 50 varieties of cinnamon rolls.
