SO WE HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF A BETTER LOOK OF WHAT WE’R’ LOOKING AT TSHI MORNING HERE ON SOUTH HAWTHORNEND A KNOLLWOOD STREETS HERE IN WINSTON SALEM. YOU CAN SEE SEVERAL CREWS IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS INTERSECTION HERE. THEY’VE BEEN HERE SINCE THE VERY EAYRL PARTS OF THIS MORNING HARD WATORK TRYING TO REOPEN THESE ROADS. ANDF O COURSE AS CHRISTINA MENTIONED THAT ATTENTION TIME FOR THIS ROAD CLOSURE HAS BNEE ANNOUNCED IT WAS INITILYAL SEVEN O’CLOCK THIS MORNING AND THE CITY OF WINSTON-SALEM SAYS CUSTOMERS IN THIS AREA RIGHT HERE OF WINSTON-SALEM COULD BE WITHOUT WATER RIGHT NOW AND LIKE I MENTIONED THAT ROAD CLOSURE EXTENDED WE SLLTI DON’T KNOW WHAT TIME THESE ROADS RIGHT HERE WILL BE OPENING AND BECSEAU OF THESE HAZARDOUS ROAD CONDITIONS CAUSED BY THIS EARLY MORNING WATER MAIN BREAK DRIVERS ARE ASKED TO FIND ANOTHER WAY TO GET TO WHERE THEY NEED TO GO THIS MORNING. IT’S IN SALEM POLICE DEPARENTMT SAYS THE FOOD LION PARKING LOT AND OTHER BUSINESSES NEAR THIS INTERSECTION CAN STILL BE ACCESSED BY APPROACHING THE INTERSECTION FROM THE EAST ON HAWTHORNE ROAD AND AT THIS POINT CITY OFFICIALS HAVE NOT SAID WHAT CAUSED THIS ELYAR MORNING WATER MAIN BREAKING AGAIN. Winston-Salem intersection reopens after overnight water main break

A busy Winston-Salem intersection reopens after a water break closed it down early Wednesday morning. Officials with the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilities Department say the intersection of Knollwood Street and Hawthorne Road was closed for emergency repairs due to the water main break. Winston-Salem police announced the closure around 1 a.m. when “a large amount of water” was leaking out of the road surface and covering the road, making for hazardous road conditions.

A busy Winston-Salem intersection reopens after a water break closed it down early Wednesday morning.

Officials with the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilities Department say the intersection of Knollwood Street and Hawthorne Road was closed for emergency repairs due to the water main break.
